of the most prominent theorists and theories that have influenced the
philosophy of education and have shaped our modern education community.
Socrates
Socrates, 469-399 B.C., Greek
philosopher of Athens, generally regarded as one of the wisest people of
all time. This section presents his famous Dialogues as narrated by his

Plato
Plato, 427-347 B.C., Greek
philosopher. In 407 B.C. he became a pupil and friend of Socrates.

Aristotle
Aristotle, 384-322 B.C.,
Greek philosopher. He studied under Plato and later tutored
Alexander the Great. This section presents his famous work,
